Waking early for a Sunday I decided that today was the day to test the pannier system on my Bandit.  I've been out before with the panniers on but without weight just to get used to the width as they are much wider than the ones on my old touring bike.

It's been a while since we wrote anything about the GSXR so thought that an update was in order.  You can read about the modifications that have been made in the previous articles by clicking on the links at the bottom of the article.

Project GSXR has been used on and off for the last couple of years since the Renthal's and other parts were fitted.  This year would be the real test though as it was due for its two yearly ITV (MOT).

It's that time of year again, out with the old and in with the new, tyres that is.  For my faithful GSXR its actually been more like three years as I had been seduced by the easy riding nature of our BMW F650 and the GSXR has been left in the garage on too many occasions.

The last tyres fitted were Pirelli Diablo Strada's which are becoming hard to source as they are out of production.  They were a good match for the Suzuki for longer runs and didn't complain when thrashed (within the speed limit of course) around the mountain roads near our Costa Blanca base.

Over the years Michelin, Metzeler and Pirelli have been my brands of choice  and it was the Pirelli Diablo that caught my eye again, the standard version not the harder Strada used previously.  The next decision was whether to remove the wheels at home as I usually do or take the bike in to a shop.  The second option goes against the grain somewhat and my North Yorkshire upbringing but in this instance would get the job done in time for the bikes upcoming ITV.

Thanks to Mateo at Mille Motos Benissa for the great price and service.

Unfortunately I don't have an after shot of the bike as I was to eager to take her for a spin so the one above is before.

What to do? what to do? With the little BMW that is.  After about 18 months of ownership a couple of good trips and many days exploring the local mountain roads and trails a decision had to be made over the fate of the bike.

Bought initially for touring duty as an addition to my trusty GSXR (too extreme for touring these days).  The little BMW has grown on me as a general purpose bike as well as a touring stead, but it did come with a bit of problem attached, that being its UK registration.
