Triumph Tiger 800 The Triumph Tiger 800 marks a new direction for the Hinkley firm, yes they have made a large trail bike for a few years in the form of the Tiger 1050 and it's predecesors, but this is the first one with proper off road credentials.

Don't get me wrong I am not the type to set off across the sahara on a 200kg bike with 100kg of extra kit for good measure, but if the mood takes you the new Tiger is more than capable of the task.

When details of the new bike started to filter through it became apparent that it was aimed squarely at the BMW F800GS range which had been achieving wide acclaim with the press and customers alike.  As with the BMW, Triumph decided to release two versions of the bike, the first being the standard Tiger aimed at the road oriented adventure bike market and the Tiger XC which is billed as a more capable off road version with it's longer travel suspension, hand guards, bash plate and optional knobbly tyres.

With 95bhp and 71Nm of torque from the new three cyclinder motor the Tiger should have enough power for most situations, Triumph have also included a high output alternator across the range to power accesories without worry.

Along with the new bikes Triumph have launched a large catalogue of accesories including, lugguage, GPS, accessory sockets, tank bags and heated grips and also offer ABS and an Arrow exhaust as an option.
