Over the course of the year, Spain has quite a few National Fiestas (Bank Holidays) and I tend to forget about them until a couple of days before.  Usually, this means I don't have time to organise anything and another bonus biking day goes by without turning a wheel.

This week was no different and I had to be reminded by my lovely wife on Thursday evening that Friday was a fiesta and I should really get out on my bike again.

Thursday evening was a blur of trying to remember how to post a ride to the Bikers España Facebook Group before everybody in the area went to bed.  I finally managed after posting it to the wrong page first and having to delete it and start again, even computer engineers get it wrong sometimes.

The meet was at the BP garage in Benissa at around 8.50am which I almost missed as I had a slight issue with the GSXR and changed to the Bandit for the day.  It is nice having a choice.  At the garage, I met the only other attendee for the hastily organised ride, Martin one of our Facebook Group members.

I thought the Bandit would be severely outgunned, considering Martins weapon of choice, that's why the GSXR was chosen, however, it turned out that Martin has only lived in the area for a few months and most of the day didn't know where we were so was more worried about getting lost.

We had a great few hours out with breakfast at Barnies in Benidorm followed by a run up to Guadalest on the road from La Nucia, then down to Callosa, over Col de Rates, stopping for the obligatory photo before waving goodbye to Martin in Alcalali for the return leg to Senija and home.  I did, however, do a sneaky extra lap from Benissa down to Calpe and back as the N332 is awesome here.

All in all a good laugh and nice ride, thanks Martin for coming along.

It's nice to meet new people and show them around the area, if you fancy coming out with us, join our Facebook Group to see rides posted and other interesting stuff.
